Harborne Accident Repair Centre Ltd is run as a family business by husband and wife team Paul & Keely Harper. Paul has been in the motor industry all of his working life starting training in the mechanical side of the business working his way up to a management level. Approximately 10 years ago Paul wanted to further his knowledge and decided to take a side step from mechanical to bodywork, taking the position of body shop manager with Harborne Garage Ltd, gaining various qualifications as he went. Even now with Paul’s title of Director he prides himself on being a very “hands on” member of the team. Keely has been in the motor industry for the past 7 years beginning again on the mechanical side of the business understanding all of the daily tasks of running the business. Keely then progressed in the accounting side of the business which incorporated work from both the mechanical and body shop side of the business. Now as Financial Director Keely is responsible for all the financial demands of the company.
We run our business very much as a team which is broken down into key departments namely:
- Office/administration
We have three members of staff in this area. Our manager Joanne Davies has been with us nearly 3 years and has very extensive knowledge and experience within the trade. Tracy Stanton has been with us over 18 months and primarily works with our parts department implementing parts administration systems whilst also supporting Joanne with reception/office duties. Donna Blackford has just joined our team, and her commitment to our team lies within the accounts department concentrating on invoicing and credit control.
- Estimators
We now have two full time estimators. Our senior estimator is Gareth Roddis, who began his time with us in the workshop over 6 years ago and then progressed into his current position of senior estimator over the last 5 years. Our new recruit in this department is Michael Brown, who joined us in April 2007, Michael has brought extensive knowledge and experience to our team.
- Drivers
We have two drivers within our team who have both been with us for many years and are a crucial part of our business. They operate a twin car carry Izuzu truck and a new Izuzu tilt and slide truck.
- Parts Department
We have two members of staff in our parts department. Our senior partsman has been with us for over 11 years and obviously has extensive knowledge within the industry.
- Workshop
Our workshop consists of five Stripper/Fitters, four Panel Beaters, five Preparation/Painters and two valetors, all of which are managed by our workshop controller, who works closely with all departments to ensure the smooth running of staff and work flow.
